We are so excited to welcome everyone to Seville for our wedding weekend. With incredible food, beautiful architecture, flamenco, colorful streets, orange trees lining the streets, and cobblestone charm, we hope you fall in love with Sevilla just like we have!

Some Tips

Here are some things to keep in mind while you are there:

Sevillians rely heavily on walking around the city. The good news is that Seville was ranked the most walkable city in the world.

In the afternoon, all of Spain has an afternoon break called Siesta, from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. Some shops and businesses will close, but tourist attractions remain open.

Most people in Seville speak English.

It will be hot when we are in Seville. The city is built for the summer heat, with shaded streets and courtyards, but we encourage you to keep this in mind while you are packing.

Traditionally, people do not tip in Europe. You are free to tip, but it is not required.

Uber works in Spain! Another app called Cabify that is popular here too.

Why Seville?

Fair question.

Lets go back to 2012. Sam was studying abroad in London and took a trip to Seville to see friends. It was in Seville that Sam came out to her friend only steps away from where we will be getting married. At the time, Rakhil, from her Azerbaijani roots, was half way across the world.

Fast forward to 2023, where they saw each other from across the bar at The Cubbyhole. They become inseparable and Sam knew Rakhil had to see Sevilla. So the first trip together of course had to be there. It was in Sevilla that they each knew that they were the one for each other … Rakhil put a flower in her hair (see below), clacked a fan, and here we are.
